How much longer is “the way it’s always worked” going to keep working for you?
Bradley Lambert has spent enough years in biomanufacturing, pharmaceuticals, tech, and as an entrepreneur to know that if you’re not treating your data like an asset and your company like a data company, you’re already behind.
“So many organizations are still running their companies the way they did ten, fifteen, or twenty years ago,” explains Lambert, founder of IT consulting services group MILREA. MILREA was born from the understanding that “there are new, although fundamental, ideas that need to be brought to light,” he says. “What I’ve brought to different organizations over the years are ideas that set the course for greater opportunities ahead.
“Many system integrators or software companies would be happy with a project going sideways and even selling vaporware. I want to be a true partner to a business, and I want to help set them up for success.”
Clients attest to the high quality of Lambert’s services. “Brad Lambert’s visionary approach in IT and innovative digital solutions has been invaluable,” says Roman Vincent, senior director of marketing at Zaether. “His profound industry knowledge and strategic implementation have propelled our collaborative efforts, making significant advancements in digital transformation a reality. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated partner.”
With more than twenty years of IT and OT experience in the biotech industry, Lambert has seen companies pour money into commercial, clinical, and R&D operations developing life-saving therapies while neglecting the back-end systems, processes, people/culture, and data that drive their operations. Many haven’t updated their processes or technologies to reflect modern data management strategies, leading to massive waste in spending and in productivity.
“Many executives have not familiarized themselves with their full value chain,” Lambert explains. “Most simply haven’t even mapped out their processes in full, and that’s where we come in. MILREA provides companies with optimization through organizational and secure digital data strategies to benefit from AI/ML and also cut down on operational costs while maximizing profits and increasing market share.”
If executives don’t get the “lay of the land,” they risk being taken advantage of by bad actors or vendors that simply aren’t up to the task at hand. Lambert has seen too many organizations realize, after tossing bad money after bad money, that their operations are somehow more expensive to run than ever—exactly the opposite of what they intended.
Beyond inefficiency, there’s the critical data security piece.
“You have all of this unstructured, semistructured, and structured data,” Lambert explains. “A great deal of that data may be patient health information or other proprietary information, and you may have inadvertently given your third-party vendors access to that information. They may not even realize it. In fact, nobody ever realizes how unsecure their environments are until they experience a massive data breach. It’s like termites. Nobody knows until the deck collapses.”
Lambert says security, connectivity of data, and business strategy all have to align and work in concert to help advance company goals and priorities. He’s laid out the worst-case scenarios. But what about the best-case outcomes?
The MILREA founder says his organization can simplify those data points, minimize exposure, and contextualize data to aid lean operations. For drug manufacturers, that means creating a successful product with fewer attempts, more data, and less overhead.
Lambert is quick to acknowledge the skepticism surrounding new tech solutions. The promise of AI, he jokes, can mean something truly life changing. Or it could mean a simple software that compares spreadsheet information but charges a premium because of the AI label.
That isn’t to say AI isn’t having its moment. There are countless products emerging every day that do have the capability to reshape work environments. But with that innovation comes the sharks and the hucksters. It’s just the way of the world, and Lambert is far more interested in providing wide-ranging value than a simple widget solution.
“I have been part of so many organizations where I have seen that waste going out the back door,” Lambert explains. “Some companies operate on the assumption that if they can overcharge, they will overcharge. That’s not me. I like to fix things. I like to be part of strategy. And I like to watch things I’ve helped build and grow.”
Lambert’s love of building efficient systems isn’t limited to his IT work. He has owned a successful day spa for over a decade. He’s managed a successful portfolio of commercial real estate. He’s even built a car wash. Both on and off the clock, Lambert wants to be part of a long-term solution, not a quick buck.
“I want to be a strategic partner and a sounding board,” Lambert explains. “I’m going to provide my opinion. If I disagree, I will disagree. I want to help organizations make the most informed decision they can. People building companies need someone they can look to.”
Lambert’s ultimate mission is to help more companies understand that they’re already behind. Organizations can’t afford to keep doing things the same way, to keep recycling the same ideas. If they keep running their businesses the same way they did ten years ago, they risk dying on the vine.
“You need to be looking to the future, and you need to be creating that road map,” Lambert says. “What drives me is lighting the torch and carrying the message. I love helping people. That’s what drives me. I just hope people are willing to listen.”
